![]() I did not even need pictures to know how opulent this time in Chinese history was. It was filled with enchanting descriptions that highlighted the beauty of the Tang Dynasty. This beautiful story was steamy without being overtly gross. This riveting, well paced, passionate love story had me clutching my pearls but I refused to take a real breath until the story ended. The heart of this story is the universal theme – love that transcends all boundaries. But, known for his skill with the sword, handsome Shen Leung, a wandering swordsman, comes to test her skill, but not for the reason she thinks. Since then, many men have tried and failed. In an effort to dissuade the local official who keeps insisting that she accepts his offer of marriage, Mei Lin makes a startling declaration: she will marry the man who defeats her in a sword fight. My greediness took over and before I knew it, I had finished reading this book in one sitting. Needless to say, I reached over to the nightstand for the iPad, opened the app and watched with glee as the book opened, showing the amazing cover art. It was five in the morning when I heard the familiar ping. Then the agony of the wait began, but oh how delighted I was when The Taming of Mei Lin was downloaded in my iPad’s Kindle app. ![]() I immediately jumped at the chance when I realized that I could pre-order this book on as an e-book for $2.99. ![]() One of two things drew me to this story: first, the seductive title The Taming of Mei Lin, and second, the story was set in the Tang Dynasty of China.
